together is the best place to be

In preparation for the looming month of May; the four straight weeks of time apart, we spent this weekend facing each other, looking at our marriage, looking at one another and really seeing, really hearing, really sharing. He made me dinner, he planned our time, he cherished me--as he does. We ate and we biked and we sat at the water's edge, and we fell asleep to Sherlock, and shared a mile-high chocolate pie on swivel barstools, and we munched on falafel sandwiches in the sun and sipped a kung fu bubble tea in the Georgetown shade and feasted on the beauty of Dunbarton Oaks as we explored the garden under a light drizzle hand-in-hand. We talked under a walking-bridge in the cemetery about all that God has been teaching us and under a huge oak about how we can grow in communication. And for all of this, all that it is to me, and that it means to have and hold the man that Kyle is, for all I give thanks.
