Easter in New Hampshire
BFFs experience a Saturday in Maine
Faith unfolding
The joy of pizza on the stoop.
A year ago, we were down south reuniting and ending a deployment, getting engaged and giddily planning a life together. This Easter we were up north, in true New England, learning to love our family as a family. We spent a sweet night with the Holbrooks in CT, rejoicing with them in their joys and coming to understand their sorrows. We were deeply encouraged by their faith--the evidence of an unseen God at work in visible ways--and challenged by their faithful lives, whole lives of service and neighborly love and worship of God.
In New Hampshire, we saw God answer prayer, celebrated Easter with the whole family, and ate endlessly. We traveled to Maine for a quick escape to wander the Marginal Way along the sea coast and enjoy clam chowder and lobster rolls.
It wasn't perfect, but here is where we believe God's promises that obedience and sacrificial forgiveness always yield to joy and God's blessings. His way is always for our good, even when it feels unnatural.
We drove south again, right into spring itself. Pizza, FNL, and ice cream to cap off a wonderful weekend. We'll eat salad tomorrow, we say.
