life lately

 my universe lately: trees aflame with burning colors, the wild, untamed energy of a three-year old boy that turns our house upside down and fills it with joy, sticky floors, healing shingles, aching joints, workout playlists, new habits, calling mom on the way to work, kisses on a bare baby belly to raucous giggles, simple costco-enabled meals, savored cups of quickly-cooling coffee - before dawn, if I'm lucky. Sometimes its passing ships in the night with my love and a quick kiss before sleep comes. It's feeling stressed because our house can't stay cleaner longer than one minute if our children are awake. It's the arboretum each week, explicit music at the gym, memorizing James, snuggles at bedtime, friends always filling our home, and learning a new liturgy. It's holding tremendous joy in the hands of a broken body and finding grace each morning anew.
