surprises, the good kind.
For about a month now, James shows his joy with ever-growing smiles, giggles, coos, and laughs. Small fireworks are exploding inside my heart every time he looks over at me and breaks into that toothless, perfect grin. We have our own language these days and he echos each sound I makes. I make a funny face and he giggles. He is full of discovery lately--learning his toes, his hands grasping, his tounge and its motions. I grabbed his chubby hand yesterday and held it against my face; still waiting for the day when he can do that all on his own. Our bond is impossible to describe with words. I feel so connected to him and he to me, as well.
I would love him either way, but James suprises me endlessly. By how early he came. By how tiny he was. By how CUTE he is every second of every day. By how well he eats. By how chill he is. By how he takes the milk cold or warm. By his sweet and happy nature. By how he smiles at the wall. By how he can melt my heart when he sleeps in my arms or grasps my finger or smiles deep into my eyes. By how well he has slept. By how little he fusses. By how much he likes the carseat and carrier. By how much joy he brings us. By how much fun he is. By how much he loves me and how much I love him.
He's in his crib now and I miss him. I think I'll go pick him up and hold him close.
